BMW viert veertig jaar Art Car

BMW viert dit jaar het veertigjarig bestaan van de zogeheten Art Cars. De slingers worden op verschillende locaties opgehangen, onder meer in Hong Kong, in het Centre Pompidou in Parijs en in het BMW Museum.

Al sinds 1975 veranderen internationale kunstenaars BMW’s in rijdende kunstwerken. De Amerikaan Alexander Calder stond aan de wieg van wat nu een belangrijk onderdeel is van de BMW traditie. Diverse kunstenaars toonden vervolgens interesse in het initiatief.
“De laatste toevoeging is de BMW M3 GT2 van Jef Koons”
Calder beschilderde veertig jaar geleden een BMW 3.0 CSL waarmee BMW de 24 Uren van Le Mans reed. De laatste toevoeging aan het Art Cars-repertoire is een BMW M3 GT2 uit 2010 van Jeff Koons met verzadigde kleurenschakeringen en een zilverkleurig interieur.
